Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is,
the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.
Hebrews 13:15

A sacrifice of praise to God...fruit of lips...the giving of thanks to His name...Words flow from our mouth daily, but it is the language of thanksgiving that transcends all other languages. It's the language of glory. It places me in the position of humility and submission to the One who is far greater than I could even attempt to contemplate intelligently.
This lisping, stammering tongue dare not even try to speak the language of this thankful heart. Each beat resonates to Him with thanks for His merciful gifts upon me. Like an EKG read out, I write down and record the heartbeats of thanks one by one.
Heartbeat of Thanks 1 ~ For the blood He shed for me, to redeem me.
Heartbeat of Thanks 2 ~ For the joy unspeakable He give me each day.
Heartbeat of Thanks 3 ~ For the blessing of our growing family. Our son Adam proposed to the love of his life on Saturday and she said YES! Our family welcomes Macady and her 6 year old son, Brenden, into our family - officially this fall.
Heartbeat of Thanks 4 ~ For the sweetness of friendship. I'm thankful for an unexposed visit with friends this past weekend.
Heartbeat of Thanks 5 ~ For being able to sleep without fear for my life, unlike so many in places around the world.
Heartbeat of Thanks 6 ~ For placing within this humble servant His words to minister grace and peace to those who are hurting.
Heartbeat of Thanks 7 ~ For God's gracious hand of provision of small jobs each week for my husband.
Heartbeat of Thanks 8 ~ For the beautiful blue sky and billowy white clouds I got to enjoy Wednesday as I crossed the mountains of TN and NC.
And the beat goes on, and on, and on, and on...........................................
Gracious and Merciful Father,
I come to you speaking the language that brings You glory. The language of a thankful heart. Father, I thank you in everything, no matter what the circumstances may be. It's not always easy to give thanks, but it is needful because it is Your will for me to do so. I thank you for the mercies You have shown. I thank you for answers to prayer I've seen this week. I love You. Your Humbly Grateful Daughter.
