I'm thankful for this country God chose for me to be born in and be a part of. I bask in its beauty, enjoy the freedom we have to move about, vote, have a voice. It's not perfect, definitely flawed and in need of improvement, but it's home and worth fighting for.
I tear up each time hear "The Star Spangled Banner" played by a band at the high school football game or here the song, "God Bless America."
I'm blessed to live in the Smoky Mountains here in NC. To see spacious skies, amber waves of grain and majestic purple mountains bring peace and joy to my soul.
But I'm also thankful this is only my temporary home. I can't even begin to imagine what heaven will be like. While I'm waiting for Him to transport me to my new eternal home, I'll continue to be thankful for all He has given me here to enjoy, use, care for and protect.
God Bless America!
